Established in 2024, AWL Airas Wang de Lafée is a contemporary art gallery located in Girona, led by Pepe Baena Diví. It is our mission to prioritize the voices of artists who support positions of awareness towards postcolonial realities and their identity politics, re-evaluating traditional processes and collective knowledge; the analysis of humankind through an anthropogenic lens; and addressing the inherent blurring of natural and artificial realities in a post-digital context. We connect gestures presented in the gallery with its surroundings by tying into a vernacular frame of history, architecture and design, gastronomy, landscape, and craftsmanship.

With a careful selection of artists whose work awakens social consciousness, we serve as a meeting point for those seeking to understand and confront the challenges of our time. Through the lens of creativity, we explore themes of diversity, equality, social justice, and identity—inviting our audience to reflect on their role in shaping a more inclusive and compassionate society grounded in respect and tolerance.
